Community Arts Network

Community Arts Network (CAN) has been operating in Western Australia for over 30 years using arts and creativity to grow resilient communities as both a community development and an arts organisation. Through the Place Names Project CAN has been working closely with BAC members and the Katanning Noongar Leadership Group to undertake comprehensive community engagement with families, elders and community stakeholders.

CAN's objectives (below) compliments BAC's vision and project objectives.

  • Community: Connecting deeply with communities to create art that builds on strengths, shares stories and inspires social change
  • Arts: Creating outstanding art with artists and diverse communities that engages and impacts broader audiences
  • Network: Building sector knowledge, capacity and influence through reflective practice, professional development, partnerships and national advocacy

Together BAC and CAN's will support positive social change through the arts, building inclusion and understanding between people.
